Help

This document serves as a repository for known information about the EZServe.

According to Paul Niklewski, the EZServe can be described as:

This API supports devices / links / scenes for Insteon and X10 devices. The ezsrve has macro and timer capabilities as well.

Comparing this to the Insteon PLC:

  • Devices should come naturally by virtue of implementing a PLC software interface.
  • Links? what is a link? replace this text with a definition of a link and a LOE to reproduce.
  • Scenes - The overall O.R. Controller API needs to standardize scene manipulation in a HA Hardware agnostic way, however, it is possible that this can be achieved and still use an EZSrve and/or an ISY, however, it may also be relatively easy to achieve through code as well?
  • Macro and Timer capabilities also need to be standardized by the Controller API and be HA Hardware agnostic.

If the capabilities of the EZSrve and the ISY can be abstracted to a higher software level, then the EZSrve and the ISY become unnecessary and irrelevant.
