Custom hardware, embedded software, a whole slew of strange acronyms I had never heard of (trying to wrap my head around X10 lately), mobile Java, and iPhone. All in an open platform, with an open community and open innovation. With some great, smart people.

Frankly, sounded like a fun place to be. Plenty of new stuff to learn here. Custom built hardware to play with. Trying to get my software on it. Fun.

Home automation first, home Internet later. Desire to have a consumer oriented server at home, reachable by remote control. Ease of use and ease of deployment. Your home in your cell phone.
