Dave Moyer, over at Ars Technica is talking about us Ars Technica: OpenRemote Grows in Popularity...

Nothing earth shattering, however, I find some of the comments at the bottom (by readers) to be interesting...

Vadi.p Very nice. Hopefully they'll have a special accent on user-friendliness and ease of setup - something that other already available oss systemd don't do (writing perl scripts for your fountain is cool, but it's not for everybody). July 29, 2008 @ 12:31PM
Arasirsul I don't know about ease-of-setup (since you're going to have to hunt down and assemble hardware on your own), but user-friendliness (or Spouse Acceptance Factor) appears to be one of their goals. July 29, 2008 @ 12:43PM
DaveSimmons Nice, their competition is much less open: I wanted to look at the DLNA specs but they charge $500 for a PDF copy Mad July 29, 2008 @ 01:14PM
tacshose My home is outfitted with ELAN screens for full audio/video/ and light control of my home, but I would love to integrate more such as HVAC, pool, and sprinkler system. July 29, 2008 @ 01:26PM

There seems to be a theme that everyone expects us to provide something that is easy to deploy/use/manage... I say let's deliver on that. :)
