Sorry if this sounds like an ad. Seems Insteon/Smarthome remains serious about home automation. If they can release a product or two a month I'd be very happy to see that. If they could get it certified for EMEA (even if it's just Europe) I'd be ecstatic!. Anyway, Smarthome now has the following for sale:
- INSTEON Wireless Motion Sensor, requires an Access Point not a RF SignaLinc.
- NetLinc - INSTEON Central Controller, seems to meant for PDA et al. I mentioned this before.
- SwitchLinc - INSTEON 220V Outdoor On/Off Switch Kit, wow 220V outdoors.

Huh... I was impressed with the NetLinc thing. Meant for the iPhone at the moment. Cool lights controlling. I hear the stuff is buggy but this is the right approach. |

They really don't have an upgrade path and the upgrades that they do means sending them your controller before you get a new one or buy a new one/refund the old one upon receipt. They have no method of field upgrades. Think about the wall switch, do you want to replace it because it was buggy? Of course hardware bugs require replacement. |

That is interesting to know. If the switches are buggy there really isn't much we can do. But if it is the controller that is buggy then we can help. |

This was early on, during the first two years. |
